When You're First Eligible
You become eligible for benefits coverage on the first day of the month following your date of hire. You must enroll within your first 30 days of employment. If you don't enroll during the first 30 days after your hire date, you will only be enrolled the coverages that are automatically provided to you. Your coverage is effective the first of the month following your start date.

You will receive a letter in the mail from our third-party vendor, Consova, to verify the eligibility of your dependents. Please provide them with the necessary documentation to verify your dependents. View pages 5 and 6 of the Benefits Guide for more information.
After receiving your first paycheck, an information packet will be mailed to your home address and online access should be available for you to make contribution elections to your 401(k) through our vendor, Charles Schwab. Visit www.gatesretirement.com. You may make changes to your 401(k) contributions at any time.
